Rehabilitation and Wellbeing Business Partner
Council is seeking to appoint a maximum term full time Rehabilitation and Wellbeing Business Partner to contribute to Council’s success. This position is a maximum term opportunity for parental leave coverage with a projected end date of September 2025.

About the Role
The purpose of this position is to support Council’s people agenda, contributing to the proactive management of health, wellbeing and rehabilitation strategies, process and policies. The Rehabilitation and Wellbeing Business Partner is responsible for supporting injury management cases and working with leaders to effectively manage the return to work program. This position is also accountable for developing, supporting and implementing health and wellbeing initiatives across the business.
Ideal candidate:
Strong understanding of workplace injuries, prevention strategies, and the ability to conduct ergonomic assessments and develop job dictionaries.
Comfortable engaging with a diverse range of teams and stakeholders, building strong relationships to support rehabilitation and wellbeing initiatives.
Able to work autonomously when needed, while also being a supportive and proactive member of a team.
You will bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, Allied Health (or related discipline) and/or equivalent demonstrated experience in a similar role.
Current Queensland Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator accreditation.
Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and the ability to coordinate WorkCover claims management processes and early intervention strategies at an individual and an organisational level.
Demonstrated ability to develop highly effective working relationships by building credibility, respect and rapport with internal and external networks.
Remain abreast of contemporary practices and statutory requirements of the Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003, Work, Health and Safety Act 2011 and Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 and any other state and federal legislation delegated to Council for enforcement and ensure precise application and continued organisational compliance.
Advanced communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
