Your Role
A great opportunity exists for a Senior Associate with general commercial, real estate and/or regulatory experience to join our growing Retirement Living team. This is an exciting opportunity to build a reputation as a specialist in a rapidly growing sector.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with pre-eminent Partners Tammy Berghofer and Robin Lyons in a core area of our Real Estate business, assisting clients in achieving their policy and business objectives within Australia's retirement living sector. You will be involved in a broad mix of commercial, transactional and/or regulatory work across most Australian jurisdictions, depending on your experience and preference, such as:
Assisting with capital transactions of retirement villages, land lease communities, rental villages and aged care portfolios
Providing regulatory advice on the application of a range of real estate and retirement living legislation
Supporting our clients to ensure their resident contracts and disclosures are compliant across their portfolio
Presenting seminars on topical regulatory issues to our clients and industry groups
Assisting and supporting our involvement in peak industry bodies representing the retirement and aged care sector
Our clients are diverse and range from charitable organisations to private and ASX listed operators, including the top 5 retirement village operators in Australia.
More About You
We welcome applications from lawyers with:
5+ years PQE
general commercial, real estate or regulatory/advisory experience
strong technical and drafting skills and the ability to deliver quality, commercial and pragmatic advice
a very strong client focus and demonstrated ability to form enduring relationships with peers, clients and industry stakeholders
willingness to contribute to business development and thought leadership initiatives including presentations, client training and publications
